Karolina Szturo

Karolina Szturo was born in Gdynia on the Baltic Coast of Poland, the area is famous for its amber jewellery and the area has a proud tradition of producing quality jewellers.

Karolina went to study at the Fine Arts Secondary School in Gdynia. It was while at school that Karolina developed an interest in Jewellery design and manufacture, finally specialising at school in metalworking and jewellery.

Also while at school Karolina was given the opportunity to display her work at the famous AMBERIF exhibition rooms in Gdansk, Poland, and sold the pieces that she had on display.

Following school Karolina decided to go travelling spending time in the USA, the Caribbean and England before finally settling in Scotland.

Since settling in Scotland Karolina has successfully studied Jewellery Design and Manufacture at National Qualification level at Glasgow Metropolitan College, here she was guided by Colin Thompson and she is currently studying for a Higher National Diploma at Cardonald College where she is under the tutelage of Scotland’s most experienced Jewellers.

During the summer of 2008 Karolina opened Peggy & Priscilla Flying Pig Jewellery Workshop and Studio with her friend Lindsay Reid. It is at this studio that Karolina produces jewellery for sale at craft fairs and produces commissioned work.
